About Us

Buxton and District Lions Club support many activities and projects to raise funds to assist individuals and organisations within the Buxton and District community. This year we are running Annual Bonfire Night at Buxton Cricket Club to be held on Saturday 5th November 2016. (Visit the Events page to find out about are Competition Entry, prizes and how to participate ) Last years firework party was a great success and we welcome everyone again to this community event.

Buxton & District Lions have raised thousands of pounds for local charities as well as performing many hours of community service. Meetings are held twice a month, details shown in the progamme of events section on this web site. The 2nd Thursday of each month is a business meeting where we update each other on what we have been doing and the 4th Friday is where we all sit down with our wives to enjoy a pleasant meal at the High PeakmGolf Club. As a member, you pay a subscription of just £5 a month to cover the administration costs, so that everything that you raise from your activities goes back into the local community. So why not contact us or come and help us with our activities.

Then like me, after many years of being a member of the Lions, you too will still be having good fun with your friends and have lots of good memories of help provided by you and your family to our local community. So if you are interested just send me an email and I will be pleased to take you to one of our meetings or get you to join in with one of our events so that you can see and experience what the Lions do in Buxton.

I am looking forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon.
