This is just a sample of what we do and who benefits from our work

 

July 2017 - Coach Trip to the Special Olympics at Sheffield.

March 2017 - Storage Cupboards and sink unit provided for Night Shelter in Buxton.

January 2017 - Whaley Bridge Older Persons Luncheon Club donation to provide First Aid Training to the volunteers who run this group,

December 2016 - Grant award to The Tradesman Cafe who provided food and companionship to te homeless on Christmas Day

December 2016 – Community School – Provision of the Peer Mentor award and Outstanding Achievement in Key Stage Three award at the Community School awards ceremony held at the Paxton Suite, Pavilion Gardens.

December 2016 – Community support by helping to provide a Santa Grotto in the Springs Centre for the 4 Saturdays before Christmas.  Also we contribute presents to the Springs Reverse Santa who organise a collection of gifts from the community to give to those children who may not receive any presents at Christmas time. Lions work in partnership with the Springs Centre who organise both of these splendid community events.

December 2016 – Grand Bazaar and Christmas Lights Switch on – Buxton Lions provide assistance with the running of this enjoyable evening, working with the Pavilion Gardens and the Lights Switch on Committee.

November 2016 - Thomas Moore School – Provision of a student award for Outstanding Achievement in the community presented awards ceremony held at the presentation evening in the school hall.

November 2016 - Bright Opportunities a donation to assist them with the work in running their club.  The group run a  day service for adults with learning difficulties in the High Peak.

May 2016 - Donation to Lifefit in Hayfield to assist with their work in the community for people with mental health issues.

May 2016 - A donation to Furness Vale Community Centre to provide improvements to their kitchen area.

March 2016 - Donation to help Nightstop and the Food Bank with their activities.

January 2016 - Donation to the Queen's Court Social Group in support of their activities helping older people in the local community.
