Robin Hood at The Nottingham
Buxton Lions and “The Nottingham” Building Society are organising a “Reverse Santa” programme during December. They will be collecting gifts, unused presents or toys from the community to give to those children who may not receive any presents at Christmas time. The staff of “The Nottingham” have run this activity in previous years so again have asked the Buxton Lions to arrange for Santa to leave one of his collecting boxes in the reception of “The Nottingham” at 28 Spring Gardens, Buxton.
Robin Hood has paid the Nottingham Building Society a visit to support this excellent event and has asked all the children to have a good look in their toy boxes for anything that may be suitable to give.
Santa visits
Blythe House
The staff from Morrisons and Chapel-en-le-Frith supermarkets, helped by Rachel and Hannah from Blythe House Hospice a Children’s Christmas party was held at the centre.
Buxton Lions and Morrisons had arranged for Father Christmas to visit with Sue the Pixie and Blythe Bear whilst Rachel and Hannah organised some food and games for the afternoon’s activities.
Father Christmas was very happy to see all the children having a great time and to also give them the presents he had brought with him at his Grotto. In fact, Lydia and Thea quickly wrote out a list for Father Christmas to let him know what they wanted him to bring when he visited them on Christmas Eve.
Buxton and District Lions would like to thank Father Christmas, the staff at Morrisons, Blythe House and all the other helpers who helped organise this event.
