Buxton Carnvial The Duck Race

Buxton & District Lions Club last held it's Carnival Day Duck Race in 2019.  It took place on the River Wye in the Pavilion Gardens, on the Saturday after the Carnival Parade had finished.

Tickets sold out during the Saturday afternoon thanks to the support received from the community.  The first three ducks home won their ticket holders £100, £50 and £25 respectively.  It was great fun and all proceeds went to local charities.

Thanks must go to all the staff at Morrison’s supermarket who helped Buxton Lions sell tickets during the week before from Monday to Friday at the Lions stand shown above.  Mrs Fraser, a previous winner, is seen with Paul Wyatt a Lion member and organiser of the Duck Race.  On the Saturday the team moved the stand to the Pavilion Gardens promenade to continue to sell any remainoing tickets.  Again it was a great day enjoyed by all including the Ducks.
